Default Front stage advice

My current setup is
- LC2i loc
- 15" IDMAX (IB setup)
- Alpine PDX M12

- Arc Audio XDI 1200.6

I will be running 3 way active. My next project consist of
- MiniDSP 6x8 OR Mosconi 6to8 (pursuing sale now)
- 3 way front components

I have been reading and looking at various models of tweeter, midrange and midbass. Various company like vifa, scans, dayton. My budget WAS at $600.... but after looking at Scanspeak 7" woofer$420/pair, my budget might be a bit overwhelmed. While I havent made a full decisions on what Mid's or Tweeter to get, everything is still in the air for grasp.

All the components dont have to be from the same company. I can mix match and fill the void where its needed. One thing to keep in mind is the woofer has to be 7", MR at 4", tweeter can be 3/4 to 1 1/8 (shallow mount). Any helpful links or speaker recommend will work. If you have anything that fits the bill and you are selling it, let me know. Thanks

My rule of thumb is when using 15s you must use 8" mid bass to fill in the gap 6" will leave. As for mid bass speakers IMO illusion makes the best 8" mid bass and shallow mount as well. Someone had a pair of illusion luccent 8s for sale here. I also liked my rainbow x plain 8" 3 way set up. I believe they discontinued the lucent 8s and only make the carbons in 8s now. As for mids and tweets there's too many good choices and I don't wanna start another big dyck contest here...

Look into dayton reference 7 inch. Also check out the dauton reference 4 and tang band titanium full range. Tweeters I'm out of the loop on.... I still use old quarts and infinity's

Mines the non-ML version. I have 8 speakers setup. FL FR center RL RR sub. The subwoofer is working now.. its a greadt addition and much needed to the car. Its just lacking some loudness to the front speaker. Basically i have too much bass now. Im still adjusting the bass to the factory speaker.

Now, I listen to alot of music that does alot of singing along with bells and whistle... can I go with a very good midrange and skimp a little on the tweeter and midbass?

For example, get the scans 4" 12m .. then go with a seas excel 7" and peerless/vifa/ tymp 25vts?

Or scans 4" 12m along with dayton/tang 7" with 25vts?

Sorry trying to type and work hehe

No need. Ill just stick to my beginning intention and go with dayton references and keep under budget. Im already trying to get a good dsp that can prolly work better with mediocre sounds which is at least my intentions on doing. Anything to make it sound louder and better than the factory speakers

Nothing wrong with the dayton references, I have 6 of the 3-1/2" in my blazer. The best part of running a 3 way is that you can use cheaper drivers that excel in their narrow bandpass. Usually high price means better bandwidth but 3 ways chop that requirement down and opens up the options for cheaper drivers. I don't recall my crossover settings exactly but the tweeter I use is a $10 dayton silk dome. I have one 10" dayton PA for midbass in each door crossed at 80hz. All that junk on 2 zed leviathan's, I need a DSP desperately. I want to use some hlcd's I've been sitting on for way too long.

Ah, nothing wrong with the Dayton's. Give them the right power and crossover point and they should do well.

Plus, you can always upgrade later
