I have vifa 50w tweets and either pdx 6.5 or soundstream PA mids.

They aren't loud enough anymore.

power I have is a s800/4 or ppi 900.4

80-100w vifa silk domes and 6mr500's?

Tymphany makes a couple horn-loaded tweets that might give you a bit more output without making the jump to bullets/supertweets. These should at least sound better and not require too much EQ like something more efficient would.

There might be more in that line, I'm not sure.

Well then, lol. Honestly I haven't heard either one but I doubt they will be much different. The second ones don't appear to be as sensitive so that's not the direction you want to go if you already need more than the first ones give you.

Well mine are 50w...other are 100w...I'm assuming that should be quite louder?

I misread what you said earlier and thought you already the the ones in the second link (the $20 ones). Those will be a couple dB louder and might be worth a shot.

I bet the voice coil on both of those is exactly the same. The second one ($20 one) is more sensitive because it has 2/3 the moving mass and a slightly stronger motor structure. Point being - neither one is going to take 100w. I don't know why the rated power handing is so much different.

I have them on the s800/4 now. Very little gain though. 4v unit, USB with decaf.

they have lasted a while. But I always listen for distortion.

I was leaning towards these

If you want louder neither of those would do any good. The one's you have now are close to the upper limit of efficiency with a conventional dome tweeter. I'm sure you could find something with a larger coil and better cooling to get a little more power to them, but you start trading efficiency for power handling and it comes out a wash.
