Default 1st t-line enclosure build

This is a project in the back of my mind long overdue. Finally got around to getting some baltic birch and went to town with it. The sub: single DC Audio m3 8 d2 ohm. Will be going in the ext cab of my s10.

Got the wood home...started laying my lines...

Next up: cutting time... All the pieces needed cut. Had a lot of long wide pieces my table saw wouldn't manage so I trimmed up those with my router after being rough cut with my jigsaw. For those just starting out, label/mark each piece what measurement it is and what it's for. This will prevent confusion and will go quicker when putting together. I did label mine in pencil so difficult to see in pics.

Then started the enclosure assembly... Put together port pieces 1st

Putting in port pieces and lots of glue/screws were used...

Those 2 pieces of wood help get that certain measurement and make sure I'm straight/square. An added hint for those starting out: Make a couple pieces of scrap wood to certain measurement whatever your port measurement is. This will help during assembling process.

WTF happened here?!?! I have no idea....thinking that one port piece is somehow warped. Had to come up with a unique way to make it straight during assembly process. That block with a few holes in it and a string attached was my idea. Once the top goes on, I should be able to pull that string and the piece should come out. It didn't work. All it did was drag in between the 2 board, and string broke. I know I'm onto something dammit....I got it. String is weak. So I got myself some long primery wire I had. That block I cut in 1/2, no pics and I shoulda gotten pics, and tried again. It worked! Once 1 piece gives in, the other will just fall. Now I've proven that out, I can go ahead and put the top on and go to town.

Top on, glue running down everywhere,....screwed in place, sanded edges flat, rounded the corners, sanded smooth, cut the mounting hole for the sub and this is how it sits right now....

That black wire coming out of the port is not speaker wire for the sub but for the little block invention once the port piece is screwed in place. Just pull and came right out.

Whew...think this sums it up. I gotta get some spiked t-nuts for the sub tomorrow and hopefully get to hear it. Stay tuned...

What are the vent dimensions and line length on that? Lookin good so far. Also, the box built in the front, what is the reasoning for that? Built a few tlines and haven't seen that done yet?

It's always sad to see a t-line get enclosed because from the outside it just looks like a normal ported box. Looks badass though
