Default Dd 2508

Just installed (2) Digital Design 2508 D4 subwoofers in a ported box. The specs of the box are as follows 43 Long/ 10.5 Deep/ 11.5 Tall and the port is 3 Long/ 6.25 Tall/ 3.5 Deep. Not sure what its tuned to (sorry Im a rookie). I have the subsonic filter set at 40hz as recommended by DD for the break in period and LPF around 100~120hz. Gain is set to about halfway.

I have the subs powered by the Digital Design M1D amp. This entire setup is 2 Days old.

My question is, why isnt the subs very loud? Ive seen videos where the (2) 8 subs doing work. Flexing roofs, doors and all. My rear view mirror barely moves. On some songs you cant even tell I have any subs at all! I look at the subs while music is playing and theres barely any excursion.

Any ideas? The amps providing plenty of power for the subs so not sure whats going on. Kind of disappointed with this setup so far and I spent some good money on it.

Hope you guys got some ideas!

Thank you in advance!!!

Any chance you wired one out of phase?
Do you have an aftermarket head unit?
Any electrical upgrades?

No both are wired correctly. Im using a Alpine ILX-207 double din and no all stock electrical components (batteries/alternator)

your tuning is pretty high....putting the box specs into a box calculator, the port is tuned to 58hz. that coupled with the subsonic filter attenuating anything below 40hz is probably why it's so quiet.

The pair of those I had in a small suv were in roughly a 3 cube box tuned around 37 and I wish I went lower.

So basically my enclosure is wrong for the subs? Sorry I just had the audio shop build the enclosure and do the full install. Hes a authorized DD seller and assumed he knew the exact specifications for the subs.
