Hello CAC members: I am brand new on here, so a big howdy from Seattle. I just purchased a new to me Scion xB, and the previous owner poured quite a bit of money into the stereo. I'm not savvy at all about car audio, so thus this post.
He installed an Apple I-pod Mini in the vehicle and paired it to the Alpine head unit. Everything works fine on it, including the bluetooth connectivity, CD player, and radio. The only problem is with the USB connection. The Alpine has a USB connector that comes out of the back of the unit, and it was routed nicely enough so that the end of the cord comes out right around the cup holders in the car.
The Alpine user's manual states that you have to connect a USB cord between the unit's USB connector and your flash drive. I did that, but no go. The screen flashes the message, " No USB unit". When attempting to set up the USB via the interface on the Alpine unit itself, same result.
Is anyone familiar with Alpine receivers to the extent that you could lend some expertise in this matter? If so, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks to everyone who might respond, and again, greetings from Seattle to all of you.
