Ok I’m in the process of starting my build and decided to upgrade my wire for my doors since the factory wire is a bit old. In the process I have found my head unit is grounded through my antenna. I’m lost on this should it be that way ? Any help would be appreciated.
I do. But I’m not using it due to me wires are old and I changed out my door speakers . I only use it to power my radio. But even if I don’t use it my head unit will power on without the ground connected if the antenna is plugged in.
Ok, I looked it up and from what I found the antenna is supposed to be grounded. I removed the ground wire from the harness and ran it separate so I only have the constant and ignition switch on the harness and I am getting the ground humming now. I tried all the tricks of grounding the rca’s with no change. I will try a different head unit to see if that’s my problem.
