Default cheaper route for speaker grills

does anyone know of another way to make grill covers my god the mesh grill material at parts express is 55.00 for a piece thats like 20 inches by 30 inches
i need something to make some grills for a set of 8 inch dayton audio's i installed in my blazer.i made the entire bottom half of the door panels sealed off enclosures for my 8's and i made the speakers set to where theres a lip that is raised up about 3/4 or so around the speaker so i can make grills with mesh material then wrap them in speaker cloth material but good lord im not paying that much.

does anyone have any left over that they dont want or do you know a cheaper way before someones foot goes into the speaker, thanks any ideas would be great

oh and no they dont make speaker grills for this size speaker,i have a set in my truck too and had to buy the closest size waffle grill and make something with fiberglass and bondo just to protect them,no speaker grill for this size speaker
outside dia is 8 7/8
thanks

you are a artist i love your work damn man thats just good stuff,i think i jumped the gun when i saw you post on this thread i built a set of enclosures for my truck a while back, thats when my friend on here that had 4 anarchy 6.5's in his doors,he bought grills from you and i was looking to buy from you then,

i bought this chevy blazer as a project,so i am going to go ahead and keep on working on everything myself you know, thats why i bought the car to begin with was a project so im sorry im going to go ahead and build something myself, they will NOT look anything like yours but at least i did them

i would highly recommend you for sure, sorry if i wasted your time, hell maybe someone saw your work from this post, good luck to you ok.

You are making it way too hard on yourself. I guess it depends on your skills and what tools you have really. Just use a router, cut some rings, use any material you want for a cloth. Use some expanded steel if you need them to be a hard grille. Wrap them. You can make rings with a jigsaw, a plunge router with a jasper jig is just easier. Or a router table. Buy fabric at your local jo Ann's fabrics for the discount. If you doint like it the spray die it whatever color. You are just making something so simple very hard in your mind

its gotta be hard so someones foot doesnt go thru it.and what makes you think im making a big deal out of nothing or things harder than they are by asking a simple question about grill material huh.you dont have to reply in the manner that you are every time i post something, yea like im making something so simple so hard in my mind, dude your tripping and you need to go talk to someone else like that im not one of your kids or friends.
