Default Audiopipe 1800/1500.... can they do .5??

Found a solid deal on some AP1800D's. Thing is my subs are D1 so Id love to wire them to .5 nominal and see what happens...

Anyone have experience trying this?? I mean will be pretty large @ 20 cubes and Im expecting a good bit of rise, but will the amp still be protect happy?

Hoping I can wire them to .5 daily and have them work flawless

My electrical would be a dedicated 200 amp alty, 4-6 (would like to stay with 4) 100ah batts...

What do you guys think

Put it this way, im kind of the "King of Audiopipe", pm R/T Pimp hes a dealer for Audiopipe and has sold over 100 of the 1500Ds, and alot of them get ran at .5ohms for daily use, and not one has been warrantied because of it!!!

@ Vag...

Big-C knows his shit about Audiopipe's. I've read and seen that with beefy (very beefy) electrical the AP1500's will do .5 no prob. I had my AP3001d (two 1500's strapped) at 2ohm with stock electrical dogging it as much as i could. Full tilt crazy voltage drop and it didn't studder. Audiopipe is THE budget amp in my eyes.

Try it at .5 and let us know how it goes? haha

Well I wouldnt mind seeing some proof of anyone doing it, when doing my searches (I searched for a good 2 hours before making a thread) I seen BigC "talking" about them alot, just no facts, info, clamps or anything of the sort.

Anyone got a link to a success??

I "was" gonna buy 2 ap3k's, but who needs 6k+ for a daily that doesnt compete and listens to rock lol

I figured 2 1800's @ .5 would be pretty nice. Dont know if the electrical I mentionned is up to it though, Ive never run anything below 1ohm

You got to remember, you need a good electrical system to back them up, with any amp really when running lower than rated ohm loads, and after rise your more than likely gunna see over a 1ohm reactive load, so no worries, just play it smart and they will do just fine!!

Edit what are you running for subs, and ive clamped the AP3000Ds on many occasions in the past few years, and not to mention im not a professional talking up the products to get some raise or sponsership, im just a average guy that competes locally and what not, but I beat the living shit out of my products, and if they can stand up to me there a good product, thats why you couldnt give me a truck load of the kicker KX/ZX 2500.1s, ive smoked them like lighting a cigar, ive only had 4 of them and would never ever ever ever ever buy another one, thats why I like the Audiopipes, they are very strong and take a beating from hell, your not just paying for some main stream marketing name like you are with other over priced junk ass products!!

Meh. I doubt it. I'd clamp your setup first, and see what your final rise is. He may think he's seen them be "just fine", but in reality, they probably weren't seeing anywhere near a .5 final load, especially on music. Hell, even some of the 3000d's have gone into protect due to a 1.5ohm nominal load, that I've seen (in an efficient box w/ low rise). So I'd be wary to jump on a bunch of them in hopes of wiring your subs down and seeing power out of them. You get what you pay for
