Default IDQ10 vs IDQ12 - which will suit me best?

I am looking at the IDQ10v2 and IDQ12v2 which are the same price. However the v2 seems to be impossible to find so if I want a 10 I may have to go for the IDQ10v3 if I decide to get a 10. At that point, is the v3 the best choice for $240 for a complete SQ sub?

The reason I considered a 10 in the first place was because I wanted very tight and controlled sound. I just want to avoid getting a 12 and then it being far too loud and then wishing I got the 10. I listen to 95% rock and do not want the sub to kill the mids and highs.

This will be put in a g37 sedan with the Bose premium system. No plans to upgrade the fronts yet.

Thanks

Yes stock fronts and backs. Fronts are 2.5 inch tweet, 3 inch mid, 10 inch woofer. I will be removing the rear 6x9 woofer and I will be replacing the factory amp of course. I will be sticking with the stock HU as it gives out a clean level signal as the processing is done at the AMP. So this is good enough for me. It is actually pretty decent for stock system.

A fellow G owner

I'd stick with the v3.... from my understanding it's much improved over the v2. The tight controlled sound depends on the enclosure quite a bit.

Are you running a 12 or 10 in your G? If I were to go 12 I figure I would build the enclosure close to min spec.

Of course The real question is if the 12 will be too loud for my tastes. The 12 however will be cheaper if I get the v2.

You have 10's in your doors... you're sub should be bigger, LOL

Nah I would say the 12 is fine because you can always dial it down.

Don't have one in yet, but will be putting one in soon, but I'm throwing in a 15.

Yeah, the 2nd gens are blessed with 10's for mids.
