Default What year was the first revision on the Eclipse aluminum?

The picture on top is NOT mine. (part # 88120)

The picture on bottom IS mine.

The backplate is different on these subs and the one on bottom (mine) is a double stack magnet while the top one looks like a single magnet with a tall backplate.

Anyone know the diff?

So far I have this info:

Quote:
One is a 2" coil and one is 3" coil.

The driver in the first pic is a TC9 and the one in the second pic is a TC2/TC2+.
What's the deal with these subs? year, model? Just made two different ones? What year would this sub be I have on bottom?

I've been dropping it on some bass boy from '94 for the last hour in a tuned port box and it seems to do well for a single sub setup. I'd like to build it into a small sealed, but inverted since the cone has a ping in it like most aluminum drivers after some use so I don't wanna look at. Anyone have experience with these in small sealed + inverted? I can cut the box down even more not having to deal with sub displacement. 1.5 cu ft internal, maybe? It's a 12" driver.

Default Sealed Boxes

When I was an Eclipse Dealer when these woofers dropped they were designed for sealed boxes and if you mentioned ported to Eclipse technical support they would use words like not recommended and voided warranty.

For a 12" sealed anywhere from .75-1.5 will work well.
