Default Can you hear the difference

Thinking of getting a new head unit cda 105 but it only has 2 v preouts. Will i really be able to notice the difference. Im not going to any contests or anything just a daily driver. Or should i just get a head unit that has 4v preouts already.. The head unit is only like 70 bucks, and maybe i could get one of those convertes that boots the voltage. Thoughts please

you will get less output voltage of your amp. This voltage is what gets magnified. Smaller the voltage, smaller the output of your amp. Larger the input, larger the output. Well in general terms

You're not competing, correct? As long as you set gains correctly you're fine, you're not going to notice some God awful substantial difference between the two for daily listening, especially with a smaller setup. Things that make more of a difference is the head units ability to control the woofer independently.

I've heard over and over how it won't make a diff, but in my experience it did.

Had a 2v Pio in the GF's car and 4.5v Kenwood in mine. Same amp & sub and it was considerably quieter in her car and the mids/highs weren't very impressive.

After a few months I discovered SLA on her HU and bumped that up to like +3 and then all was good and it sounded twice as loud and much fuller sounding.
