Default new amp fried?

i bought a rubicon 1600d a few weeks ago to run a re sx d2ohm 12". randomly i was driving down the highway playing music maybe half volume when i heard some popping so i looked behind me and a shit ton of smoke was coming out of the amp. a day earlier i did the big 3 upgrade but took it to a local shop and they told me all my wiring was perfect. any ideas why this happened? i had the sub wired for 1ohm. just a faulty amp?

The joys of internet purchases. Good luck man.

That's odd though.

The answer to your question is yes if the voltage is to low then your amp will do that. Ive done it more than once. Most people dont run over 1200 watts on just a stock battery.
