Default Optima Yellow Top Question

So, I just purchased a Yellow Top from a confidential seller at this point as I am in communication with him currently. UPS looks like they dropped the battery off of a roof top, the case is damaged all along the side of the battery that was on the bottom in the packaging that it arrived in. I'm trying to find out if there was insurance on the package or not. Anyways, here are some pics of the damage. Nothing leaked from the battery and I installed it and it works great. Am I taking any risks or if there is no leakage the damage is just cosmetic? I think I'm gonna end up a creek without a paddle on this one.

i would contact ups's customer service department and file a compliant. it'll work out well if the person who shipped has pics before they sent it and the pics you have they should be able to pay you the money to get a new one. but make sure you talk to a manager

Take it up with UPS, and I think all packaged are automatically covered up to $100.

It's a UPS issue, not the seller, there is no reason to mention his name. I just didn't want to name the seller to have this UPS issue mistakenly associated with the seller.

To top it off, UPS misdirected this package. It was supposed to have been delivered last Tuesday and got misdirected to Missouri and I live in WI. WTF UPS?

Good call on the silicone slammed.

Well, UPS picked it up today to bring to their "inspection center." We'll see how long this takes. This sucks. I had the battery installed for a short while. It did not completely resolve the headlight dimming, but it dramatically reduced it.

I'll follow up once the ups clowns get done with it.

Once a AGM battery is cracked it will dry up over time and not work any more. If it was packed correctly then it is not a seller/shipper issue. If it was not packed well then they are at fault.

If it was packed good then ups will pay out 100.00 if there was no additional coverage placed on it.

Wish you the best on dealing with UPS they break everything.

DHL stole lots of shipments and Fedex only seems to break a sub or two a month so i would suggest fedex over the rest. Besides Fedex always pays up when they break stuff just takes a little bit.
