Default Can you get ridiculous on a single 8" for a daily?

I have been pondering this for a while, but have no real experience with the "small stuff"... Yes I have seen the Sundown video of the single SA-8 doing 140+, but that is on a tone.

In an older Porsche 911 can a single 8" give you some bump? I mean feel it in your chest kind of thing.

Optionally I can step up to a 10, but 8 would be cooler.

Power wise I can do 1400 WRMS at 1 Ohm... No problem there.

Thanks!!!

Ive heard of a (I believe single) a single DD 1508 doing 150+ or something like that? But obviously that was strictly built for numbers. Those little 1508s do bump tho, especially in a hatch back in the right box. Could you do two 8's?

I'm running 1 SA-8 in .75 cubes tuned at 39hz with ~18 sq inches of port area, and it does very well on 500w from the rear channels of a 4125 bridged. It's not breaking any SPL records (does 132.2 db at 51hz dbdrag legal) but is enough that on some music, yes, I can feel it in my throat. Not enough to really feel it in you chest, but definitely in your throat and back.

This is in the trunk of a 91 celica, btw.

Didnt someone break a 150 with a single L7 8" ? It could probably do a 46 daily...

True bass ultras can get well into the 40's too.

I might be able to do 2 8"s, it just depends on how large the ported box becomes.

I would think doing two 8's vs a single 8 would have quite a bit more potential. It will still be bad ass, two 8's can get pretty loud. If its going in a hatch back definitely. You just have to put them in the right box. Box shouldnt need to be very big at all. Not familiar with the car its going in tho.

I had two DD 1508's for a short while. I threw them in the shittiest ported box i threw together, no idea what size or what it was tuned to, but i used it in the rear "well area" of a third gen trans am, i only had a small amp, 250 rms to the PAIR and it was still pretty loud. I know that if i had gotten them in a decent enclosure and some power that shit would have been LOUD. Sadly i got rid of them for some 15's before i got to use them to their potential.

4th/6th order should get pretty loud. Also if you have the space a "real" horn loaded enclosure would yield some high output.

Updated the ?, this will be going in a '79 Porsche 911. So I guess I can fit 1-1.5 on the back seats...?

I used to have a single sealed 10 in there with a 1.5ish box.
