Default Phoenix gold line driver questions

So im thinking about getting a new head unit so i can have 4 volt pre outs. Im not going to be competing or anything just heard it makes your system not have to work so hard when getting loud. I was about to get a cda 9886 I already have a jvc with all the options i wanted but the only thing it doesnt have is 4 volt preouts is a line driver a viable option or should i just get a new head unit?

I hear that you should only really consider it when you have 2v or less outputs. if you decide to get a line driver though, I hear is always good to get an adjustable one

Line driver is a good option for you, but if you're going to do that you might as well get an equalizer/line driver combination.

I dont know that you're going to be overly impressed in the difference between 2v and 4v outputs for daily listening vs the money you're going to spend. If anything, I'd just get the new HU that has more control + the 4v as an added bonus.

Good luck.

alpine cda's are good. a lot of eclipse HU's have good pre out voltage as well. I think from 2v to 8v you can hear/feel a difference. GL with the search! I would say get a new HU though

I would recommend the new headunit instead of the line driver because I prefer as few components in the signal chain as possible.
but cost wise, a line driver is an inexpensive option.
Just remember to place the line driver near the headunit. {I saw one mounted to a sub box the other day}[wow]
