Default vr4000d protection issues? need repair?

Well I have had the amp for over 2 years and never one problem with it. Well I was tunin my 4 channels and notice the vr goin in and out of protection. So I restart the car and it still does it. I have not had a sub hooked up to it for awhile, as I was just finishing up my 18" box for this weekend.
What caused this? The amp was only on with no sub hooked up, so it was only being powered on

anyways, I need it fixed, advice? jbizzle was sayin its cuz I had no subs hooked up for a long period of time with the amp still powering on. So whats wrong with it?

Not having subs hooked up on a live amp is not going to kill the amplifier someone is smoking the crack pipe, something else happened do the normal spot checks.

yea it will not go bad from no subs hooked up cause no power was going out of the amp to be able to clip or anything.

There is power coming out of the amp even with no load on it, me thinks something hit the speaker out terms or a bad ground or remote wire issue.

well im taking out the amp and will open it up. Talked with roger at crossfire and he said he could help me, but they are the only one's that can pretty much repair them. Hope its a simple fix cuz it is hard as hell to find boards for them

Unless the board is burnt through or something major you shouldnt need a new board. Im sure if something did go bad it can be fixed.
