Default Power Bastard Alts???

Well since DC Power is trying to screw me I figure I'll start looking elsewhere. I'm thinking about trying Power Bastards, has anyone ever clamped one of their alts to see if it does rated? I'm currently running mechman but having slight issues with it but I'm going to keep it as a just in case backup because it still gets the job done.

It doesn't charge nearly as high as it used to. It started off at 14.7-8 and now, within 5 minutes of starting my car it drops to around 14.1-2 on a good day. Once the engine heats up I'm around 13.8-9 tops.

As far as my issues with DC Power, I ordered it a month ago and nobody seems to know the status of my order. Robbie took my order over the phone and even after telling him that this was my daily driver and it'll be sitting until I get my alt, I still get no word about my order. Mostly he's not in the office and they're gonna call him and call me right back but I never hear from them. Now this week nobody answers the phone at all. I just want my damn alt. so I can get back in the lanes but those *******s wont answer the damn phone and its pissing me off.

Sounds to me like thats a computer problem with your car, not the Alt. Computer controls your voltage level, not the alt. Only way for the alt to control voltage is to get a External Regulator.

I had the same issue with them but I've been waiting almost a year and still waiting. Thank God I have another one coming today from a different company.

What kind of issues did you have with the mechman? May not be an alt issue if both of these are having issues...

Sucks they wont respond...and Pat too? that sucks

How old is your belt? They pulley may be slipping a bit... And have you checked your battery lately it may need to be charged with an external charger over night. I know with the way I drive in town its mainly short trips so it doesn't give my battery time to fully recharge. Heavy current draw on the alt will pose the symptoms you are describing.

I just really want to try a different company outside of mechman so I can have something to compare to a large case conversion, that's my main reasoning but DC Power is trying to **** me around and I don't play when it comes to my money. I work my ass off for it just like everyone else while they sit in the AC and do nothing. I've talked to Rob and Dave. Dave is the one who says he's gonna call right back but never does. Who owns DC Power? Would it be better to contact him directly?
