Question Metered 145.2 in Usac What to do Next?

Here is my set-up
1992 Honda Civic Sedan
Box is Built to 6 Cubes net tuned to 38hz Firing Forward in to cabin area. Not completely sealed off from rest of trunk.
Woofer is DD9518 ON 3000 Watts RMS
My Question to you guys is what things can I do to increase spl that do not involve adding more electrical or building a new box.
So far I have done a 145.2 on the term lab in a Usac Show I know there is more in it somewhere. Please Help!

I think you have the wrong sub for that car you can do that with a single 12" sub you gave the power

if the meter is your main concern your tuning is quite a bit low. Your a good bit below the civics resonant frequency. Raise the tuning raise your score

How's your box set up? Do you have pictures? If we can get a visual, it'll help more.

First thing I'd say, if you want to keep the forward firing box is to seal it off. This can normally be done with a roll or 2 of Duct tape and 2-3 cans of Great Stuff.

not always the case

i did a quick spl build in my expedition, and it was loudest tuned to 37hz but was peaking @ 46hz. i tried tuning to 46hz and lost 4db

to the op, are the port and woofer both firing forward?

just an educated guess i have a 1995 civic coupe (same body style and extremely similar) and i was tuned to 40hz on the meter then cut one inch off the port and the score went up one whole db. From my understanding the resonant freq on the civics is on the high side. I could be wrong though sealing the trunk looks like the easiest cheapest and best bet

I will try to get pics up soon. I don't want to lose my back seat because I need to compete in a trunk class and i like when I park somewhere it can be concealed. I have considered sealing it off with expanding foam then trimming it off to keep asthetics pleasing from the front. I do not have any sound deadening on my roof and the rear doors. would this help me on the meter?
