Default amp keeps overheating?

ok, so i have a visonik v800hc, it keeps overheating. in the manual it says "1ohm stable" but later it says not to wire below 2 ohms. so is it1 or 2 ohm? its all rated at 1 for the specs

well it keep overheating, no voltage drops, so my question is, what can i do to keep it from overheating? just find a d.7 or d1sub and shut up?

It's probably safe to assume that amp is only 2 ohm capable. If you've got a dual 2 sub wire it for 4 ohms and then turn the gain up to 3/4 and see if it over heats it probably won't.

Is this the amp where you have to remove the protection circuit to run it at 1ohm? Are you sure its not going into protect because of that?

Fans. Lots of fans.

The moar fans you put on it the moar cooler it will run. You might even try routing one of your A/C ducts to blow on it.

Or he could go 100% power and clip the shit out of his sub. That was just to test that it's an ohm load problem.

How do you have it wired? Are you sure you bridged it correctly because it's only 1 ohm stable when bridged in mono. I'm not sure about it but make sure it's in lp mode and try pulling one of the rcas to make sure it's getting a mono signal. I don't know how the visoniks work since i never had one but having both rcas could give it a stereo signal no matter what the sub's putting on it.
Also some amps that are supposed to be a certain ohm load stable are only stable above that. Check your sub to make sure it's giving a 1.1 or higher final ohm load it might be pulling a lower load than you think.

I believe that one is 1 ohm "stereo" stable 2 ohm mono. What kind of electrical and what gain settings do you have it at?

Its 0.5 ohm stereo, and 1 ohm mono. Being that it's class A/B though, it's destined to get hot; but not so hot it shuts off.

Any voltage drops?
