No, if it was meant to run at .5, it would be rated for it. Make sense?

My buddy is running his bxi2610d at .5ohm no problem. And i don't agree with the previous post. Just because they rate it at 1ohm doesn't mean its not .5 ohm stable. Im sure manufactures say 1ohm so it persuades people from wiring the subs down.....but since impedence is always changing they'll have to make an amp that is stable at impedences that dip below the amps "stated" stablity.Granted that that music is dynamic and the impedance of your subs is always changing. With rise, you'll be fine @ .5ohm....now if your were using a 2ohm stable amp and running it at 1ohm then that's a different story since there is such a large drop in the impedance

a lot of quality amps are only rated and warrantied down to 1 ohm because they dont want people running them for hours on end that low because they will get hot. but my amp, the sundown saz1500 is only rated for 1 ohm. but will drop down to about .25

I agree, but we are talking about Maxxonics Bxi line. They will NOT run @ .5 continuous. I can say this from PERSONAL experience, not "my buddy's"

Yep, but if you are buying The Bxi line, you probably are not into serious comp and are just looking for a budget daily amp. Sorry if i'm coming off as an azz, but i am giving the OP an answer based on experience, not
speculation.
