Default ok the new Soundigital Van i got problems need help

ok here it is , i am having problems with subs coming apart! its the top and bottom on the pass side. i went thru 3 subs in 2 days 2 of them were the bottom pass. and what failed is the cone ripped off the coil this happend doing a legal #. the 3rd one is the foam surround riped about 1/4 way around on the top pass. side top sub, on far pass. side of the sub close to the edge this happend doing a outlaw #. i have rd hw subs reconed by psi. these subs have 4 spyders. can anyone tell me what else i can do!?!?!?!. i guess ill put it out there, after i put 4 new subs in last night i did a single burp just to check them out and i did a 166.3 legal. i was ok with that and didnt want to push it yet and to save them for a big show next week and went to a small show today.i didnt realize after that burp test last night i had ripped the cone off the coil i just packed up and loaded up. just had to add that so ya know what kind of pressure we are dealing with.

Might be your baffle is too thick and the back pressure you're putting on the sub is alot greater then all the others. I know alot of louder SS vehicle have that same problem.

Losing pressure somewhere, and subs unloading most likely.

Seal up that pass door good if its not already.

Gary,

Subs will have to be made for your car, reinforced where they are breaking.

I would try epoxy on and around the spiders first and see if it would hold up. For your surround issue I have found that gorilla glue works great. If the epoxy doesn't work try different spider configurations like 3 stiffs, 2 med,and 1 or 2 soft. Are you using a horn design enclosure? I would have to agree with unloading, but I don't think your problem is back pressure, I mean if it was I think you would fold the cone before you tore a spider with that kind of power.

what seams to be happing is where the cone is glues to the coil it rips off the spyder is fine on the outside edges and for most part still intack with the coil. what take the gorila glue (wood type) and coat the underside of the foam with one layer?

We do both sides of the surround, it wont look pretty but it works. your subs are failing at the triple joint. Your subs are moving to far and it is ripping at that point. You could try and epoxy the triple joint but I have never tried that so I don't know what would happen.
