Exclamation Issues With D9's. HELP!!!

Ok, I'm having a problem with my amps. I can play music all day long but when I go to burp the setup, my master amp goes into protect, happens at about half volume. My amps are strapped at .6 so that's .3 each amp, my voltage doesn't drop below 13.3 on a burp. I've tried a normal burp and I've tried to roll on the volume and it still goes into protect. I've even tried it with the gain on the amp ALL the way down. The only thing I can think of is to try them unstrapped which is what I'm gonna do tomorrow. Any ideas as to what's causing it or how I can fix it? I need this thing working right before scrappin this coming weekend!!!

Yeah, I know that it's pretty low but I want a 58 and this amp going into protect is stopping me! lol My thing is this, impedance rise shouldn't make the amp go into protect, unless the impedance is dropping when the woofers start moving but I don't understand why they would play music when music is way more dynamic than a burp. I'm gonna try them unstrapped and hope that works, if not then I'll try switching the master and slave around.

If your HU has SLA for CD/iPod then try lowering that, also try rolling the volume up slower...

Couple things to try:

1. Switch master/slave.
2. Push on one of the woofers before you turn the amps on. This will change the inductance and should get it high enough to allow the amps to come on and burp.
3. PM dbdragguy. He runs his DD Z1a's strapped at .25 ohms, so he knows a few things about getting amps to run at low impedance...

I know a few db drag guys burp like 1/3 volume before their run, not for that reason but still it could warm your subs up a bit too get a Lil more rise outta them.

As it stands I haven't had time to do much. Right now I have the amps unstrapped but I haven't had time to gain match them at all so I haven't done any testing. When I get out of class tonight I plan to match the gains and see what happens when I burp them so I'll post my results and if it doesn't work then I'll start working my way down the list of things to try. Thanks for all the input guys, I appreciate the help.
