Default Going active - need x-over advise

Looking for x-over for active set-up. One that woun't give me noise/static/ground loop issues i hear so much about.

Here's my other "ingredients"

Kenwood DNX9140
Polk Audio mmc6500 (MOMO components) currently bi-amped
Polk Audio PA500.4 amp (4x100W)

There's also a sub/mono amp but that can be run off my headunit.

I do realize you gatta pay to play but really not looking to spend lots of $$$. Up to $150 would be ideal but will concider more expensive ones if they will pay off in a long run (no issues)

There's far too many factors that can cause noise issues. No way to tell whether or not the xover would add that or not.

There's really no need for me for a 4-way x-over, 2-way will do just fine... for now lol.
Besides, when i googled Stersom STX84 all the links i got were in spanish - language i do not know, so can't even tell if i like it's specs or not

This. chances are pretty small unless you just get a really crappy x-over that it will cause this. most of the time it's from your wiring from what i've seen.

x2

Memphis makes a nice unit, this one here, 16-XO3 - Memphis 3-Way Electronic Crossover

Ive used it before, with a pair of ID Oems and Blaupunkt VC100 tweeters, sounded great. Only thing with the Memphis, it has no "labeled crossover points". Which means, you pretty much setup your front stage by ear. (as it should be )

Well, thats not completely true, it has a range, but you have to estimate the crossover points until you find the ones that suite your speakers and music style. If you can find one use, excellent unit.

Im curious, if you can bi amp the Polks, why go active? The only difference is you will be able to change the crossover points, and the passives were design to work best with the drivers? Just wondering.

If you can spend up to $150, wait around for an Alpine PXE-H650. You can sometimes pick them up for that price, and you get the added benefit of auto-EQ and T/A.
