Default HELP!

so today when i got out of work i got into my car to listen to music. but when i start my truck the headunit doesnt come on. i try turning my car off and on and when it still doesnt work i remove the face. i notice that the unit still has power, can rotate the face (Kenwood xxv-01D) and eject CDs. I hit the reset button and the unit comes back on for about 30 seconds before turning off again. when i finally manage to keep the unit on by once again resetting it i think everything is fine. until the music starts to skip like i am listening to a CD. even though my ipod is hooked up through the aux port. i try taking the unit out and reconnecting the harness. it doesnt help and at this point i am also getting static like i am listening to a radio station that isnt coming in clear. what is the problem? and how do i fix it? thanks

sounds internal to me. Something that transmits signals into actual signal that goes through the speakers is messed up. Hit any big bumps? May have rattled something loose.

Check the ground wire itself? Make sure it's getting a proper ground, and if not then (as stated above) it might be internal. I'd start there though

SQL?? One or the other folks, make up your mind already!

Don: Surfer, you are a really well known SPL box builder - how do you make a box sound REALLY loud?
Surfer: You taketh the cardboard paper towel roll, you cutteth said roll longways, you tapeth said cardboard to the boxeth.

Yup the ground is good. I was having some issues with the stock hu ground so i found another one near my shiftong column. Only reason i dont think i jarred somethong going over a bump is because it was fine when i got to work where it sat all day and when i went to leave was when the issue started

something may have been loose. then shorts periodically when power is sent to it. I know when i installed my HU i left some wires uncovered and it would short out when i would turn left when they touched then come back on once I stopped turning.

I suggest going very heavy on the electrical tape. If that doesnt work it has to be internal.
