Default My goal, let's see if I can do it!

First off, this is not a this vs that thread. It's just pointing out what I am trying to do!

Okay, here is my goal. I want a 147. The reason?

Personal satisfaction...

The loudest vehicle I have been in belongs to a friend of mine. It managed at a local comp, on a TL, sealed on the dash legal, a 147 (or around there, was a few years ago). It is an extended cab ranger, two 12" comp vrs, in a premade box (Obcon, looks like the GZ 328), off of a Kicker 600.1.

I want to sound better (no subs unloading and just having port noise on low notes), and have the ability to be at least that loud.

It's not for the fact of being louder, it's because that's the loudness that I think will be enough for me!

Equipment/vehicle is in my sig! The box isn't completely decided on, it will be decent sized and most likely designed and tuned with aeroports to be able to plug some of the ports for a nice daily tuning (~32hz), and unplug them for a higher tuning for comps.

Even if I don't pull it off, there is always next year

make a CRX style box. (sub up/port back or sub up/port up)

i have done both in my truck and worked out very nicely. Keep your tuning around 36-38hz

the godzilla boxes were beasts and very well built.
147 off that setup in that vehicle is very good.

Was planning on sub up/port back. If I don't hit what I want I'll give sub up/port up a try.

Since I've known him he has blown at least 3 Comp VRs with that box/amp. I defiantly don't want to push my system that hard to pull it off. Trying to go for better designed, better (in my opinion) products, etc.

Not sure if I would be comfortable building a bandpass box, want to stick to ported for now.

If nothing else if this doesn't meet my goals, I can always upgrade later. It's half the fun
