Default How do I measure a Kerfed port to tune it?

Alright I am having a little trouble figuring out how to measure my port length for a kerfed port I am doing. Can anyone help me out as I dont want to go any farther on my box build until I can tune it correctly.

Here is a pick of close to what my box looks like except my port is all one piece that is also the front of the box as my port bends 90 degrees.

I hear right in the middle of the flare but I always stop right before it so mine is a little longer

I measure 18 inches without including half of the flair. If I include some or half of the flair I go up to 21 inches so my tuning goes from 43 hz to almost 40hz where I wanna be or lower.

I understand that and that is why I wanna know how to measure it correctly for sure. SO i can either make the port bigger or roll with it.

Guys I still have NO idea on how this is REALLY figured as I have been told 3 DIFFERENT WAYS now?

Measure just straight part of port

Measure some or half of flair and straight part of port

Measure ALL of port flair and straight part (NEVER heard this one before) Now I am really confused?

well since its the depth of the port that gives you tuning...i'd measure from the bottom of the enclosure if it was me

but again IMO a kerf port is a waste of time so my opinions are probobly worthless in this thread
