Default anyone else experience this?

i know for an fact, theres a general rule of having your subs/port so many inches from the tailgate(suv guys). But the closer i put my box to the Back doors/tailgate the louder my setup get. i just moved my box to literally 2inches from the tail gate and it got a good bit louder! sounds like a new setup. can anyone explain why is this happening. Also every setup i have ran, whether CRX Or all rear firing was louder with the box damn near on the tail gate. it also seems to move a good bit more air also. guess the general rule of thumb doesn't always mean louder

yes, it depends on the car and setup but my boxes I always test. I don't go by any "general rule" because for the most part their are bullshit
