Default DB Drag rule question

Well, I was looking at the rules for Street Stock division and was wondering what exactly was meant when it says no "competition grade components" can be used. Could I get someone to explain this one to me, because If I use a XS or Kinetik cell in the car, isn't that competition type stuff?

I did a search and was wondering if someone who has competed in this class could explain. Thanks.

Yeah, each of those classes are limited to 1K and 2k each so I don't think there would be too much of that, but I can think of a lot of stuff that would be considered "competition" grade.

It mostly pertains to woofers. That rule was thrown out awhile ago.

Street stock is limited to 1000 watts and 2000 watts and is meant to be a very vague set of rules because it is meant for the new guys that are just starting to learn about the competition scene and want to get their feet wet.

As far as the batteries. The only thing that would most likely not be legal for them are the multi-cell batteries. XS Power and Kinetik are allowable.

it may just mean, moderate equipment with no modifications to the cab
or i could see where it would mean like using something small
kinda like an incriminator 187 opposed to a warden, just things that arent spl oriented

I appreciate it, they need to go through and update the rule book or something. Especially, if someone is using it as a guideline and is actually a true newb and has no one to guide them along. They would be at the "other guys" interpretation of the rules. My car by no means would qualify for either, but I had a couple of guys asking me from work and I was confused myself and told them I would try to get some clarification for them.

Well, technically, I'd be a noob to competing since I haven't done anything serious or sanctioned since the early 90's in the day of IASCA.

It's kinda silly to have a rule stating that no competition grade equipment can be used in this "competition". Just recently a judge stated that rule was dropped and now they're just limiting it to 2.5" voice coil subs.
