Default SDC2.5 12" box weight

So here is the situation. I bought 2 SDC2.5 12"s about two months ago and have them in a 4 cuft box at 38 hz. For a while now i've had growing concerns that this setup is entirely too heavy for my tiny 2000 corolla. SO my solution(s) are:
-to sell everything and use the money to buy a single Fi Q 15"
-Sell a single sub and get a new box for the remaining SDC
-build a new box for the SDC's made out of birch instead of particleboard and hope the drop in weight is sufficient for my suspension.

Another thought i had is to build a 3 cuft box tuned to 32 hz for the singular SDC until both sell and i purchase the Fi then simply cut a larger hole and mount the Fi in that box. However i am worried about this since the general consensus is SDC's require a 2-2.5 Cuft box tuned to 38hz to perform optimally. IF i go with this solution will i run the risk of damaging the sub?

You really think the box is too heavy for you car? What would your estimate be on how much it weighs?

Well the subs weigh 50 combined and the box is at least 70lbs. The main concern is with box in the trunk the back tires are almost in the wheel well. when it is out there is a gap of about 2.5-3"

how about your fix your suspension? that enclosure with subs should be less then 100#'s, so your car should have no problems if the suspension is in good shape.

You should have your springs and shocks looked at then. Think about this, when you have people in the back seat I highly doubt they only weigh 120lbs. I always think of the extra weight as having a permanent passenger. I would have your shocks and springs looked at. Sounds like they are getting to the point they need to be replaced. Shouldnt make it sag that much.

oh i guess i should clarify. "in the wheel well" is not rubbing. some of the tire just goes past the body but still has some clearance. im mostly worried about hitting a big bump and doing serious damage

It still shouldnt drop 2 and half almost three inches with only 120 lbs. Something is wrong somewhere.

I agree with the previous posters that 120 lbs shouldnt put a big strain in your suspension. I used to run a similar weight (more now that i think about it) in a tiny 13 year old 200SX WITH tires bigger than factory and it still wasn't bad. The only time i was really worried is when i had 2 passengers in the back going over bumps. Drive carefully, don't speed over speed bumps, and it should all be fine.
