Default HU swap...resetting gain?

How many of you re-tune your gains when you swap out head units?

i do, each hu has their own characteristics. preouts might now be exact same voltage, settings internally. etc...

You need to in all cases. Even two identical radios may have slightly different preout voltages.

It's good practice to check it. Better to check it and stop a problem than to not change it and blow your stuff up.

People who think its a volume knob probably don't. I'd bet they end up pissed off that their subs/speakers/whatever gets blown too.

I redo the gains after swapping out Headunits. Due to the headunit having possible clipping issues on its own.
