Arrow SDS CLD tiles ?s

So decided to pick up some of the CLD tiles and had a few questions for the ppl who have used them.

As far as the trunk lid goes did u guys deaden just the 25 percent of the flat sections of the trunk? Or did u cover the lid completlty? I guess same question applies to the rest of the car! Doors ect.

You only need to deaden the flat areas because the curved areas are obviously stronger than the flat areas and they aren't as susceptible to resonating as the flat panels are. I just used 120 CLD tiles from Don and it gave me good coverage all over. Only place I haven't done yet is the roof. I did use more than suggested in a few areas and that's why I haven't done the roof yet.

To go back and answer your questions directly, I covered more than 25 and more than 50% of the trunk lid, but after doing so, I feel the same results could have been achieved if I had used less.

My advise is you should only focus on the flat panels and don't cover over factory deadening because it isn't going to help you that much.

Follow the instructions that Don gave you and you will be fine. He knows what he is talking about and would not steer you in the wrong direction. Ultimately, the decision is yours... If you feel a panel needs more than 25-50% coverage, go for it.

I know you asked about trunk, but I did my roof down the middle. Helped out a lot. One of the main things that the seller of the product is preaching it not doing 100% coverage with just the tiles.

But I would just go down the middle and test. The trunk is easier to get to than say a door panel or the roof, so if you need to add more you can. If you didn't really need that much on your roof and you already applied it, it was a waste.
