Default Best SPL Tuning for HDC3 18?

im designing a new box for my HDC3 18, going around 6-6.2 cubes and have 3, 4" flared ports to go with it. planned on something Low for Daily (35Hz) and for SPL (45Hz)... would like to get your opinions on weather 45hz is a good tone for SPL or not.

thanks for advice in advance.

Honestly I have played with 38hz, 37.5 hz,37hz, 34.2hz in my 6.75 slot box and 37.5hz seems to be the sweet spot for my 18 setup. I have yet to explore flared. I plan on trying mid 40s but its crushing CnS songs with bass enhancement right now. Mine is more of a "daily SPL".

I would have to say start at 38 and work your way up since its so easy. Think im the loudest in hancock county mississippi right now(open to challenges) , followed by my friend with the 2 aq hdc3 10s. Oh and make sure you break it in very carefully. It will treat you right if you do.

but im the only person in my city/district with an 18 haha, people like 12's or 1 15'' around here but im glad to say im the only guy with an 18

best tuning for SPL would depend upon vehicle peak frequency and box size...

X2

Some people might be louder at lower freq in a certain car while others will be louder at higher tuning on other cars.

If you can, get a sealed 10 or 12 and find your resonating frequency and go from there

like mlstrass said, every car has its own resonant frequency, which is what you would tune to or atleast close to it.
