Default Just Ordered my HDC3!! Need Box Help!

I just placed my order for an HDC3 Dual 1 copper coil 12", I cant wait till it gets here, I plan on buying a second one and running them off a Memphis 2500D @ 1 ohm , Ive been researching and I know I want to run both subs in about a 5^ft box, but what should I tune the box to? I really love the lows but I heard that these subs like high tunings.... So will a tunning of like 38hz still give me good lows?

5cuft is way too big for 2 12s.

i had 2 12" HDC3 aluminums in 3.5 cuft tuned to 36hz and it was badass. played lows like nothing else

I called them on the phone and he told me that 2.5^ft a sub was the "perfect optimal enclosure" for a 12 and I plan on upgrading my amp to a Sundown 3500 when I upgrade my electrical some more.

2.5 for a single 12" is optimal but when putting multiple in a common chamber you typically don't have to double the volume. i'd keep it around 3.5-4cuft tuned to 36-40hz.

The guy i talked to on the phone recommended 5^ but I think I'm going to do 4.5 @ 36hz and see how I like it

If you go 5 you can always add baffles inside to take up space. Just keep in mind your tuning will change as well. So adjust for that.

Wouldn't a bigger box give better low end extension?

And I'm looking at this box design, does this box plan seem like a good one?
