Default aero port question

so i have a stock 8" sub under my rear windshield, and i have my 2 15s in the trunk, so i was thinking that i should take out the 8" sub and put an 8" aero port, does anybody think this a good idea or have a better suggestion?

You mean porting through the rear deck?

I took my 6x9's out, box/port rear facing and it made a difference. Rattling went down considerably and output increased a bit more. I'd take the 8" out and see how it sounds first.

Does your seat fold down? if so fire the 15's forward and seal them off from the trunk and cover your speaker shelf with a deadner. basically make a mini wall, you will have no trunk rattle and some serious bass.

If not you should just remove the 8" , even remove your 6x9s if you do not need them. If you stick a port in there i would think it would be making a bandpass doing so ,but i would just take out the speakers tho for flow into the car.

the only thing that folds down is my arm rest and theres a little door behind there, but yea i will try just removing the sub because thats all that there is on my rear deck and cover it with deadener and see how it sounds, thanks for the input guys

are you talking about building a box and porting it through there or just gonna put a port in it and use the box you have now? cuz that basically would be a 4th order but prolly isnt gonna sound good you could def do subs forward and use that as your port for the box and seal off the trunk but that also isnt alot of port for 2 15"'s more info is good!!

well that answers that but you could do subs up and leave that open and vent it through the armrest also depending how big it is it might work better if its bigger then the 8" hole!!

well depending of if you have a ported or sealed box its either a 4th or 6th order bandpass but i have a feeling its not gonna work how you want it too because of the amount of cu ft you have in your trunk. if you dont wanna build a new box your best bet is to just remove the sub and use it to get the music in the cab rather then put a port in it!
