Default How would you guys reach 150+ db with this equipment.

Just wondering what you guys would do to reach 150+db out of this equipment and what I would need or do to achieve it.

Currently I have a Crossfire VR4000D. So 4k rms @ 2ohms. Could build any box I want to do this pretty much. And I have Two Custom 12's from Ssackett. Sound pretty good but want louder now since I'm used to it. I was thinking 4 18" Fi BL's or something. I'm just gonna place the box on the back seats if needed. Heres a pic of the room I got to play with. Current box is about 3.9cuft net.

Doesn't have to be 4 18's or anything tho. Probably won't fit anyway. Just want something that is capable of playing 150+db. Could be on burp but be cool if it was on music. Just want it loud as balls pretty much.

i doubt a 4 18's box at proper enclosure size would fit in that vehicle very easily. Why not get 2 more of sackett's 12s and build an electrical system to see a true 4k rms and run like 3 6" aeros on 10cb ft after displacement tuned around 37hz

With 4k RMS and good 12's, you'd have a decent shot at breaking 150 by just building a larger enclosure for them. Makes the box more efficient utilizing your 4k even better.

As previously stated I don't think you could build a proper setup for 4 18's, they need a lot of space to get loud on only 4k. Add 12's or swap for 15's if you really want to change up what you have, but I still say your current system with a new enclosure would solve your problem. Flatten your response some too probably.

both not bad ideas. the wall sealed off would probably be easiest to acheive that, but thats a big commitment as well

don't let numbers make you do stupid unnecessary things.

with that said, I don't even know if you can fit 4 15s in a wall in such a small space. maybe a whole bunch of 10's or 8's would be a better strategy: like 8 10"s or high power 8"s.

But again, don't let numbers determine how you build. Unless you are competing, build to what you like and what sounds pleasing to you.

yea I know about that just this setup seems quiet to me know. at first it was loud, but not now lol.

I'm running a d3100 and a d5100 in the front. It's holding up pretty good against the vr4000d. I was thinking about getting two more sackett 12's. but then the impedance wouldn't be right. Need a final 2ohm load. Got two dual 2's right now.

I was going to get another vr4000d but I don't think that would be necessary. Then I would have to upgrade the electrical even more. No one currently makes a HO alternator for this car. I checked with every custom alt company out there.

And for the wall idea I daily drive this car. Like really drive it everyday since I'm a pizza delivery driver. So I don't think it would be a good idea lol. It has 285hp to get it around tho.

and the 12's get a little smelly on full tilt, so the bigger box might destroy them.

Sacketts tripple stack 12's would not get stinky on a true 2k rms each..... My buddy runs his tripple stack tens on over 1500 rms a piece atm and can play for 30 minutes plus at higher volumes w/o them getting smelly. and they are rated for lower power(rated 1k rms by sackett). Maybe you push them too long and too hard.... any speaker would get hot and start to smell.....
and remember, they are still just as loud, your just more def now!
