I see the IDs are very often recommended on a few CA sites. So much so, that they've caught my attention(It's kinda like...they have to be good, although I know that's not always the way to do your shopping). Although through all the recommendations I've seen, I haven't read much about their specifics(how the midbass a tweeter actually sound in comparison to other sets).
The Morels I've read that they provide good midbass and while the tweeter isn't "top of the line", it still sounds good and it's not all too harsh so you can listen forever and not get tired of it.
I haven't heard many comp sets outside of bestbuy other than the PG RSDs and the Crescendo set. I enjoy the midbass on the RSDs, but I don't like the tweeter all too much, too bright for my taste. Overall I'm still shooting for more SQ than the PG set provides. The Crescendos didn't catch my liking much at all.
Whatever I choose will be my entire front stage. Mids in the door and tweets in the A-pillar. I have [email protected]
to work with. I could have [email protected]
also, but I don't feel I'd want that much power up front since my sound stage will only have about 1kwrms.
I definitely don't want bright tweeters and I definitely want good midbass while keeping everything SQ oriented. I'm not talking competition SQ but I want the music to sound right. From what I've concluded the Morels seem to be a good option, but since I don't know much about the IDs, I don't want to count them out.
The Morels are at the high end of my budget. I have a lot more to get for this install still so I don't see myself being able to drop more than $250 on comps.
