more sensitive to what?

I know you probably didn't and I shouldn't have to say this but.. Don't use double sided tape to mount the shock sensor!!

figured I'd say that for anyone listening.

anyway,
Assuming your shock sensor is mounted to a solid surface {not the dash} it will sense shock well.
If not, the dash and whatever you have it mounted to will absorb the shock and make the shock the sensor senses less accurate.

If everything else is in order, the shock sensor has a dial on it. Use it to adjust the sensitivity.

locations;
the steering column works well.
the metal frame of the dash works well.
the firewall works well.
directly to the floor board works well if you have no carpet or padding between it and the metal.

I would have to disagree to these. if you mount a shock sensor to metal, it will go off for pretty much everything...bass, rain, etc. metal will vibrate throughout very easily. So you most likely will see many false alarms from doing this. I always attach them to a wiring harness under the dash. that way, the wiring wont feel anything that the outside metal will, but will still feel the car getting hit/ broken into. just my 2 cents.

I've been installing alarms for the last 19 years.

In my experience..
People like false alarms better than they like their alarm not going off until the thief is half or all the way done removing the system. {the few false alarms that happen with the sensor set well}

but hey, I'm sure your right
