Default Alpine CDA-9887 or Kenwood X794

I am trying to decide which one I should keep. Recently I thought I had a problem with the RCA outputs on my CDA-9887 so I purchased a Kenwood Excelon X794 to replace it.

Low and behold, the exact same problem happened with the Kenwood head unit..the front speakers sounded almost blown. Well I tested the CDA-9887 on all its RCA speaker channels with just my rear speakers hooked up and it performed flawlessly.

My problem lies within the wiring of my new components or its crossovers..

But now I'm trying to decide which head unit should I keep, the Alpine or the Kenwood? The Kenwood is currently installed..and I'm not sure if it is worth the effort of tearing my dash apart to get it back out.

9887 hands down. And I had the same problem with one of my rear speakers. I thought it was blown, until I ordered and hooked up four different speakers (LOL) to finally realize it was my amp...

The thing is, I love the Alpine, it has great sound, awesome tuning capabilities, and a great interface especially for ipods, but its radio reception isn't that great whereas the Kenwood has great reception. I get sick of my ipod quite a bit and like listening to the radio.

In addition, I'm probably going to lose more money if I sell the Kenwood and then have to take the time to uninstall it and reinstall the Alpine..which is tough when I live in an apartment up at school.

And honestly, the money isn't the main issue..my girlfriend bought me the Kenwood as an early birthday present and I don't really want to hurt her feelings if I got rid of it/

Oh gosh... you're in quite the dilemma... Eh, you'll find another girlfriend, put the 9887 back in.
