Think I'll be coming up with a bit of extra carbon fiber, if anyone is looking for some. High quality 500 gsm 12k weave, 1 meter wide. Quite a bit heavier than the stuff you find on eBay.
I won't be sure on costs, but probably around $30 a yard.
www.fiberglassforums.com has quite a few members who work with carbon fiber... check it out, they have sites where you can get the required resin as well. Terra, definitely PM me when you get it in...
EDIT: a lot of people use deodorant for a mold-release agent. Some people don't need one at all, but that's just if you coat something with carbon fiber as opposed to using it structurally. In the event that you do coat something, you just spread the resin and get rid of the bubbles, and viola..... of course, it's more involved than that, but that's the basic process.
IDK, they look about just as good to me, but that's personal opinion. Vacuum-sealing the face of a wall sounds like a whole lot more work than just doing a lay-out covering. In either case, I want some.
Ya, couple different techniques to CF. Read up and let me know how much money you'd like to spend with me =).
