Default Another Orion HCCA 250R thread

For the people who have used them before,

what is the lowest impedance you have ran bridged daily?

I know the specs are:
50x 2 @ 4ohm
100x 2 @ 2ohm
200x 2 @ 1ohm
400x 2 @ .5ohm
800x 1 @ 1ohm

But I have heard of people pulling 1200w RMS + out of them. any secrets I should know about?

its rated @ a 12v 800wrms so @ a 14.4 u may just as well see 1200+ due to its UNregulated power supply.

my experience is with the original 250HCCAs

800 X 1 at 1ohm is very nice.

I will never use one for less than that though. you just don't need to IMO. {you could with cooling but it's risky}

It doesn't matter if you have four 4ohm subs that will like 200 RMS each Or if you have a Dual 2 ohm sub that will handle the 800watts. "1 ohm is where it's at"

and since this is a free-for-all about 250Rs

RobTabors 250Rs are gorgeous! and priced TOO damn cheap!!!

That's a tough one.

I'm sure lots of people would love to have them.

just to clarify for everyone.. a 250R is ten times the amplifier a 1500D wishes it could be.

on a random statement, I will say yes.

head to head on the exact same set up tweaked to their best possible potential, I'll take the 250R in a gambling situation.

Since we are talking about them, here is a link to Rob's listing!

x2 to all of this, in my late teens/early adulthood, these were the amps to have. I remember installing a HCCA 225 for a friend years ago, went through prob 6 setups, (2 15s, 4 12s etc) but no matter what, that amp had no prob pushing what came its way. (and that was the smallest of the bunch)

As long as you can feed them power, they will put out like a prom date lol.

Excellent amps even by todays standards IMO.
