Default Sa-8's... do they hit?

Im thinking of doing a ported box for 4-5 Sundown sa-8's since a local is selling 12 of them for pretty cheap.

This would be in an suv in a ported box, they need like 1.5 cube each right?? I have the space for them no problem.

I was hoping for comparisn as to how loud they would be. My last setup was 2 Kicker L7 15's on 2k.

I have 3k @ 1ohm and can wire to .5 no problem

This is a daily driver just looking for some big thump and ability to play rock music well with tons of output. Budget of $500ish for subs...

Sa-8's the way to go

Not the way to go IMO, especially for a SUV. They only need .6 cubes each or .5

Way to be different sure

15's are prob the way to go, or 18's, or 4x 12's

Why are 8s 'not' the way to go? I have seen/heard many 8" subs in large SUV's perform very well.

I was pretty surprised at what my 8w3 did on a small amp hooked to a factory system in my Tahoe before the 4 10's were put in. I could only imagine what 1 or 2 8's could do with a good amount of power.
