Default Boxes? How much do they matter?

Alright so I was just wondering out of curriousity how much boxes matter..
Some websites sell so called "custom made" 3/4 mdf wood or whatever it's suppose to be... Are these boxes as good as the ones spy makes for example?

Thanks guys

The box is more important than the sub that's going in it. There are a lot of good box builders out there on the forums.

I'm asking what's the difference of the custom boxes some websites say they make and the one our box builders on this site make.
If it's the same cbft and all

2 things you never go cheap on to save $20. Electrical and your box. If you want something custom, go with Spy or Ami, their boxes will perform like they should.

Spy makes some really nice designs so I'm sure his boxes are bomb. The box determines alot of stuff. They say "it's all in the build". The box is a big part of the "build" I'd have to agree that a cheap sub in the right box will be better overall versus a great sub in a crappy box.

no. those boxes arent custom for YOUR sub. each sub has its own specifications so each box should be different.

Depends on the site but id rather go with a proven builder where you know he does good quality work and all your money goes into the build instead of a guy trying to turn a profit ya know.

Yeah I understand haha spy actually built a box for me
But I have a friend who bought a "custom" built box that is said to have 3/4 mdf and is big enough for his subs recommendations. The site sells like already made boxes and stuff though.. So I though I should ask haha
