Default lil problem, bit of help needed

hey fellas, hows it goin. I got a bit of a problem. My amp plays fine then after a while it cuts out, led blinks red showing a short code. I checked my power wire and theres no open spots in in touching the chassis or cab to short. I'm wondering if a semi shoddy ground can cause this, i sanded my mounting point for the ground im just kinda at my end with this. anyone have any suggestions?

doesnt just mean its a short. its the amps protect circuit. it could be low voltage, low impedance, among simply heating issues. tell us more about the setup

its an arc audio kar series 300.2. i have it mono running two ten inch 4 ohm dvc memphis subs. Its not getting too warm to the touch, if any amount of warm at all. You mentioned low voltage, well my volt meter does drop down to 12.0 volts. I also have an electric fan setup that draws alot of amps on my truck.. Before i hooked the amp up i usually see 14.0 volts cold, but it would drop to 12 volts or so when fans would come on.. i think i have my speakers wire up correctly i mean each sub has two coils, i have the coil in the rear of the sub wired with a jumper from positive to negative, then the other coil side is run to 1 channel of the amp, same on the other sub, they are both wired to one channel of the amp i am assuming i have a 4ohm final load in mono..

If its just low voltage going to your amp then you should have just gotten a smallish extra battery rather than buying a big alternator unless you plan on running a bigger amp

i have another amp waiting to be installed, my battery well its a stock replacement from autozone, plan on upgrading that as well. i havent done the big 3 either. my power wire is 1/0 awg ran to a dis block and then from there its 4 ga.. I know those electric fans i put on my truck pull alot of amps on initial start i heard close to 80 amps.. It sounds damn good while its bumpin though, good for memphis shallow mount 10's. I just wanna keep it playin...

i appreciate your help guys after further re eval of my speaker wiring i found out i had accidently wired it as a 2 ohm load and needed 4 ohm load.. Shes working like a charm now.. thanks for re iterating for me to look that over.. the amp only went into protect 2 times while i was running it for a total of probably 30 mins, so i hope alls well and i didnt wreck anything from that 30 mins...

You couldn't have wired it to 2 ohm, it's either 4 ohm, 1 ohm, or 16 ohm with dvc4's.
