Default Want loud clear mids!

hey guys i have 2 pair of Planet audio BB65pro's in my truck. one woofer is done for and i cant seem to find a replacement.
these 6.5's have 3inch coils and tuned right sounds like some decent 8's bass wise but since i have one of my 15s now ima turn my 80hz filter on so im not gonna be pumping bass outta my doors...

i love the speakers but dont feel like paying close to $200 for another pair.
i'd rather invest into a louder midbass setup but im not going all out putting 3 8's in my doors or 3-4 pair of 6.5's...
i'd rather just do a single 6.5 or single 8 in every door.
i dont have an extra amp right now and dont have the money for one anytime soon so i wanna run my single 4125 to run all the speakers and tweeters.

would using PA speakers with the BB65pro crossovers work out well enough though?
the crossovers are stoutly built and have handled everything ive tossed at them.
looks like i need to seal my doors up b/c 2 of my crossover screws have rust on them but inside of the crossovers are in perfect shape. crossovers have a Crossover Slope @ 4.5kHz 24dB/octave

i'm wanting to try out Powerbass 4xl mids or lanzar midbass drivers with power acoustik nx5's... same as the soundstream and cadence bullet tweeters but 50% off price wise. audiopipe also has the same tweeter that i can get for a great price....

I run the PB6.5's and they get quite loud for a single mid and sound good with a little tuning. HPF is around 160Hz though as they don't like to be played low.

Most of the PA mids out there aren't going to want to be dropped down to 80Hz...

yea i know. i tossed a 60hz hpf on the amp and 80hz on the deck currently.
i was thinking about just sticking with selenium if i do 6's but they're 8 ohm and id rather run 4ohm drivers so i can get a pair down to 2ohm's.
i may go with 8's... i looked at b&c and 4xl's... though i know there are many others.
what tweeters do you have with your 4xl 6's?

Powerbass 4xl are very nice, ive had the 6s and 8s. With a 24 octave slope, I could cross my 8s down to 100hz, but a few things in the Decaf folders didnt agree with them at that point, lol.

I had some custom bullet tweeters from another forum member, but they were just like the bullets you were looking at, (NX-5, Audiopipe, etc...) 4ohm, high efficiently. I also have a set of the Crescendo tweeters, and they match up very well, just are huge lol.

I have some alpha's now actually. I didn't know if I wanted to run them though b/c seleniums were much louder with stronger midbass imo. Alpha's are cleaner vocally though.
Crescendo's are freaking huge and deep too. Wondering how'd I'd even put them in my doors with out glassing a lot

Fly ty, you had 4xl's and didn't like um?

i was told a few minutes ago to use cdt upstage tweeters over super tweeters and they'll easily sound better and have a much better staging/imaging...
is this true? from listening to his system i'm impressed. hell he had 10's in his front doors and those tweeters were hanging with ease

that's what i run 10" [email protected]'s in my doors and cdt upstage tweets.
they will keep up with my 10's for now, but i can tell that they cant take much more power then what im giving em.
after i install my Zed leviathan, i will be replacing them with more powerful tweeters, i know they will not take the power, they are run off a ppi art 404.
but, cdt upstage are some of the best sounding and staging system i have ever used...
