I used to be big into home audio when i was young (before i had a license)
Eventually loosing interest and my home audio turned into a huge ass garage setup when i started partying non stop. Had 6 15" cabinets, 4 12" cabinets and 2 10" cabinets and a 350w rms 12" powered sub running off a Pioneer reciever and EQ.... when i met my girlfriend and the wall of speakers had to go..
So i down sized to 2 DCM TimeFrame front speakers and 2 DA PS10 rears..
but a couple of days ago i got a wild hair up my ass and decided its time to redo it all with newer higher quality stuff while staying very budget friendly
so I found a nice pair of front speakers on craigslist.
7 midbass/midrange drivers, 1 softdome tweeter and 1 sidefiring 8" sub per speaker
Then I found a guy that had a really nice Harmon Kardon AVR 230 reciever on craigslist for $150, which is a deal! but i offered him my old Pioneer HU out of my car for it and he said yes! This thing is incredible! Very High Tech
Next i was looking for a nice remote to control everything and found the Acoustic Research ARRU449 learning remote... this is a rival of the Logitech Harmony remotes. but there r a couple advantages to this remote. WIFI! on the built in 2.2" LCD screen u can check sports scores, weather, news and best of all the channel list and whats playing. was $400 when they first came out... I found this one new on ebay for $32 including shipping so i jumped on it.
What do u guys think? We watched a couple movies on it the other night and the sound is amazing... actually dwarfing my lil 40" Sony Bravia LCD tv... More Upgrades?
