Default need wiring/wattage reqs-- Treo SSp 12.11s

I have two Treo SSp 12s, dual one ohm subs. I am wondering what ohm i can get it to in what configuration(series, para, s-p,) and depending on that, what kind of wattage I need (subs are 1000w RMS, could easily take more from what i hear). Let me know guys. Also what kind/size of box? Thanks for any input.

yes to this

If your not sure how to wire subs correctly I would stick to the rates 2000rms of the 2 subs.

4ohm would be all subs and coils in series
.25 would be all subs in parallel
1 would be a series parallel

As for box it all depeands on what you want it to do for you.

Alright, so series parallel gets me to 1 ohm total load (found the12volt to help. haha)

if each sub is 1000rms, i'm thinking a 2500 or 3000w mono 1 ohm amp will be good. Is that correct?

and what type of box do i want? I see fourth order, sixth, infinite baffle, etc, I need 4.2 cubes and a huge port apparently. Will a box that is roughly 36in long x 16.5 wide x 32 tall roughly going to be enough? sorry if thats too hard of a question but I know that how much room I have generally, if the box were rectangular.

You may want to do a lot of research before you dive into this.

take your height x width x depth subtract for the thickness of wood and divide by 1728 (1 cubic foot) for answer

with the numbers you gave you have about 9cubic ft to work with.

as for differnt boxes you need to decide what you are going for. Daily? Burp? Bass race?

once your figure that out you will see a trend in boxes for that crowd.

Also I would take a guess and say your not ready to over power subs yet. at least not daily. If your going to burp then thats different. If your looking for daily or bass race I would stay at RMS @1ohm so [email protected]

well I will not be burping but I might do a competition or so. I want the setup to loud and not just underpowered. From reviews and personal experience( i live in the treo installer almost haha) so I know these can take up to 1800. so i'm thinking 1200-1500 is pretty safe, assuming the RMS numbers are actually right. but do you guys think I should stay at 1000? My buddy has two SSp 15s with the SSX2000.1 (2000wx1) and his 15s only get about 8-9 hundred watts and you can tell they are underpowered and hungry.

The choice is yours. Noone is saying the sub wont take more. only you know how you will be using these subs. Try it out and keep your nose open just in case.

Thats a huge Q. with alot of factors. Alot of people really like 4th orders due to its capability of a large Freq range. I would say no to infinite baffle, 6th order or T-line.
your gonna want to decide on ported or 4th order.
4th order is going to be a larger and more complicated box with good output.
ported will be smaller then the 4th order and output will be decide on how its built/tuned
