Default serious questions on hifonics hifi12d4's

alright so i have been thinking about doin a build with 4 of these since there cheap and im on a really tight budget. was wanting to kno what peoples opinions were that have used them either for daily or budget comps like the $150 spl challange. how do they hold up / sound what would you compare them to? what would be the best box / tuning for them in a blow thru setup? in a 80's chevy fullsize pickup.

Whats your budget looking like for your build? I would suggest the Kicker CVRs over these subs, if you can afford them.

Not knocking the HiFis, for the price they are ok, but they are some of the cheapest subs on the market for a reason. As long as you dont expect alot from them, I think their fine, but its better options for the money out there.

two of my buddies both run Hifonics 12's, one of em has an older set and the other has a brand new set barely broken in, the newer set is in a Jeep in a 1.5 cu ft pet chamber box, dunno the HZ of the port, but it sounds pretty decent, and gets fairly loud (both subs are firing upwards instead of back)
and my other buddies is in the back of a nissan sentra facing backwards, they sound alright but for some reason he doesnt get loud at all, you can hear em comin but for the watts hes running and the two 12's he should be much louder.. just thought id throw my .02 out there
