Default Where do the Dumb questions go?

Here's a couple questions that are probably common knowledge, but I need good answers so instead of googling...

1. When upgrading the "Big 3", when I upgrade the block to chassis ground, do I need to reground it at the same place as the factory? or can I choose a easier spot to do this? reason I ask is where it hits the block is quite a hard place to reach..

2. This is a really dumb one.. how do i know that my amp is putting out the power its supposed to be? can this be checked with a multimeter or something?

I'll add my other dumb questions later. Don't be too hard on me, I'm just uninformed!

to get your amps actual output u will need a multimeter and a clamp. yes the big 3 can be done on another ground other than your factory as long as its grounded correctly

Trying to straighten out what I'll need. About to order up my new AQ HDC3 12's, but what Voice coils do i get? I plan on running a aq2200d on each sub. So if I strap both amps together, does my final ohm load from the subs need to be 2? should i wire each sub to its own amp 1 ohm & run/wire seperately?
The HDC3's come in 1ohm DVC or 2 ohm DVC. Probably didn't word this correctly but I can't decide what I should do. I'm currently thinking, get both subs 2 ohm dvc, wire them down to 1 ohm each, strap the amps and run both subs at 1 ohm to linked amps for a total load of 2ohm....confusing myself with the ohms...

If you wire them down (in parallel) and strap the amps you will see .25 ohms to ea amp. You need to wire them up (in series) so ea amp, when strapped, sees 1 ohm. If you run ea amp to ea sub individually wire them in parallel to get 1 ohm for ea amp unstrapped.

That is if you get 2 ohm coils.

Think I got it. So I'll get 2ohm dvcs, wire to 1 ohm each, strap the 2 amps, and the 2 amps will see the combined subs ohms @2ohms. Is it better to run amps strapped or separate? Thanks

No you didn't get it. If you wire them in parallel you would be running 1 ohm per sub and .5 ohm for the pair. When you strap them it would be .25 ohm per amp. So if you get 2 ohm coils you need to run them in series if you strap so the amps get 1 ohm a piece or run them in parallel and don't strap the amps and run one amp per sub for 1 ohm each.

If you strap you won't have to gain match.
