with a battery bank in the back and a battery up front you want a fuse by the front batt and another by the rear batt bank on each charge wire going from front to back. if not you risk burning your vehicle to the ground to put it in laymans terms

Say you get into a wreck and your power wire is pinched, dead short. Fuses keep your batts from going up in flames (car to follow). Hence, keep the fuses as close to the batts as possible.

This ^ I'd rather spend 60 bucks on fusing and be safe, rather than skimp on that and put my car up in flames should something go wrong.

batts wont go up in flames but the wires sure will, few years ago i looked out the front window of my house and saw a car stopped at the corner with smoke rolling out of it, i went out and realized i knew the guy. he had his hood up and had a big 1/0 wire smoking, it was directly connected to the front batt with no fuse, i grabbed the wire and ripped the whole terminal off of the batt terminal. he had the wire ran through the car and when his buddy in the passenger seat slid his seat back it pinched the wire. the car wound up in a junk yard, it killed his alt batt and computer. if i hadnt ripped the wire off it would have burned his car to the ground (him and his buddy were both standing there looking at it like "what do i do now" lol)

dont wind up like that guy
