That's a good link of info. Some explaination:
Subwoofer facing only affects the SPL response for resonating notes. What i mean is that the notes that are afected are primarily above the cars resonance frequency...But def still have some effect below it...less and less resonance occurs below the cars resonance but still possible.
For notes that are incredibly long like as long as the cabin, no real effects will change where ever you place the box...even if it's in the front of the vehicle.
For evidence, just look at the spl response graphs on that page. It shows that only the upper range is effected(take note the cars resonance is on average 50hz and then look at the graphs).
